Agriculture has long relied on harmful chemicals but technological advancements can significantly reduce their usage
How technology enables better and targeted use of chemicals and other resources in agriculture, an interesting article released today with the insight of our CEO, Antonio Samaritani interviewed by Sustainable Growth Voice.
A reflection on traditions, needs and new opportunities for agriculture, that has long relied on harmful chemicals to protect crops from extreme weather events caused by climate change. However, using harmful chemicals is counterproductive and the use of new technologies can reduce the sector’s reliance on them to safeguard food security and farmers’ livelihoods.
The technology is also a key support for all communities, even the smaller ones that must deal with issues like the climate crisis, population growth, and the increasing necessity for food security. Furthermore, “new technologies are today fundamental to achieve a real sustainable agriculture and new technologies are the means to do more with less, using chemicals, water and all other the production elements where and how are really needed and fundamental”, explains Antonio Samaritani.
